Using past papers for revision is not only an effective way to cover subject knowledge but it also helps you to become familiar with the way the exam is structured and the types of questions presented.
Here is a three-step process to maximise this method:
- Print off a past exam paper and work your way through the questions as you would in the exam, without referring to any notes.
- Go through the paper again but this time with your notes and textbooks, adding additional information to your answers. You could do this in a different colour.
- Go through the paper a third time but now check your responses against the official mark scheme and make amendments and additions as necessary, again in a different colour.
You can then use this paper during future revision sessions.
