Lifelines: Brain dump

Sometimes there are so many thoughts buzzing round in our head that we are unable to concentrate on anything. We can’t focus on one thing because we are distracted by all the other things we ‘should’ be doing.

In these situations, it can be useful to dump all these thoughts out of our heads and on to paper. Grab a sheet of paper and write down everything that comes into your mind that you should/could/must do. Highlight those that are urgent and pick one to work on.

With all other tasks safely recorded on paper, the concern that you might forget them disappears and you will hopefully be able to focus your attention on the one requiring your immediate action.
