Maths Tip: make revision cards

When you study a new topic in maths, it is worthwhile making a revision card for several reasons:

  • You have a reference card you can easily carry with you and refer to when necessary.
  • You can use it in class or when completing homework to remind yourself of the steps involved.
  • If you do this regularly throughout your course, you have a complete set of revision card ready to use when preparing for tests and exams.

The format of your revision card is for you to decide as this is a for your own personal use and needs to make sense to you.  However, I would suggest it includes the steps involved in the process and a worked example.  Diagrams and colours can also assist in making the information more visually memorable.

Give it a go and let me know how it works for you.
